Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus (TSWV)

Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus

Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) is a negative-sense RNA virus composed of three negative-sense single-stranded RNA (ssRNA) species, L, M, and S. Like other members of the Bunyaviridae family, the TSWV virion is enveloped and spherical in shape. TSWV is one of the most economically destructive plant viruses, causing severe damage to cash crops. TSWV is cyclically transmitted by at least 10 different species of thrips[1].
